The latest Minecraft 1.18 update is almost here and goats will soon be more common around the globe. Although goats aren’t as popular as cute Axolotls or Axolotls in Minecraft 1.18, they are still interesting. These mobs, which are neutral, were introduced to Minecraft 1.17 Caves & Cliffs Part 1 together with Axolotls.
The long-awaited Minecraft 1.18 update has finally arrived. This means that goats will now have many more habitats in which to spawn
Like in real life, goats will mostly spawn in Minecraft’s mountainous biomes. Since Part 1 of Caves and Cliffs Update, goats have spawned in mountainous sub-biomes such as Gravelly mountains and Mountain edge.
Minecraft 1.18 has 8 new biomes, 6 of which are mountain biomes. Goats will now have more biomes in which to spawn. These are the biomes in Minecraft 1.18 Update where goats can spawn:
Other facts about Minecraft goats
Important note: Goats will not spawn on blocks below 7 light levels. Goats tend to spawn less after the world has been generated. A 5% chance that a baby goat will spawn and a 22% chance that a screaming goat will spawn in the game. Screaming goats will be identical to normal goats but they will scream rather than bleat.
Funny enough, goats can sometimes ram into players and mobs with the horns of their animals. This can cause players and mobs to lose a few blocks or even take some damage. They can be dangerous and players must avoid being hit. These mobs can also jump up to 10 blocks high.
If a goat accidentally hits a solid block or player while trying to hit them with their horns, they may lose their goat horns in the Minecraft Bedrock edition. This feature will be removed with the Minecraft 1.18 update.
